Trichotillomania (trik-o-til-o-MAY-ne-uh) is an irresistible urge to pull out hair from your scalp, eyebrows or other areas of your body. Hair pulling from the scalp often leaves patchy bald spots, which people with trichotillomania may go to great lengths to disguise.
We have noticed our daughter has started pulling out her eyelashes and eyebrows this past May. I decided to start this blog to create awareness of this disorder, and for stories of inspiration and hope. My daughter is only 4, and we are just beginning our battle, and we anticipate a long road ahead of us. This is a place to come talk about our experiences with trich and our children.
